- More EyAngband. Keeping up his pace of near-weekly updates, Eytan Zweig has a new version (0.1.3) of his variant, EyAngband. As per usual, you can find a complete list of changes in this version here. Mainly, the update consists of bug fixes and balance tweaks but there is also a new "monster knowledge" screen and the beginnings of a random quest feature. Source and Win9x binary are available from the EyAngband homepage.

- Another Hand-off. In the fashion of the Olympic torch being passed from athelete to athelete on it's journey, so too is it with DrAngband (had to wedge an Olympic reference in here somewhere *grin*). Tom Morton is doing the passing with Andrew White doing the receiving. Good luck to Andrew in continuing the journey of the torch, um, sorry... variant.
- New DrAngband. To mark the occasion (of taking over as maintainer on DrAngband! Weren't you listening??), Andrew White has released a new version (v2.9.6) which adds some of Andrew's latest patches and fixes a number of bugs.
- Crypt Additions. Odin Jensen has added several new bits to his website for Crypt of Anubis. Visitors will find themselves able to download the game manual & intro movie and also take a peek at the final screenshot for the game menu. Go on then, go have a look.

- New Roguelike. Odin Jensen, developer of 'Curse of the Ancients' has a new roguelike project on the go. Called Crypt of Anubis, it features 3D graphics and uses an uncovered lost tomb in Egypt as it's setting. Check out the project homepage for more details and initial screenshots.
- OAngband Ownership. Citing a new job, Leon Marrick has stepped down as maintainer of OAngband, handing the reins to Bahman Rabii. Bye bye and much thanks to Leon and hello to Bahman, we wish you well in continuing the project.

- ZAngbandTk Release. The beta version of Tim Baker's ZAngbandTk (v2.4.0r1) was apparently lovely and fine and so there is now an official release available. The word on the street is that "...this version fixes the character dump and uses MSVCRT.DLL instead of the old CRT.DLL". You can find the files you need for this Tk'ed incarnation on the project's download page.
- New SLASH'EM. There is a new version of SLASH'EM (v0.0.6E4F0) from Warren Cheung out. This one adds to the stability and the windows version now also has the GTK windowsystem built-ins available... which is nice.
- Another SR Goof. Uh-oh. Robin Gawlik isn't having a very good time of it. He's gone and done it again - leaving another file (ammo.dat) from the zip archive of Star Rogue (v0.25a). So, fingers crossed, the archive should be complete now. If you don't feel like getting the whole archive again for a third time, the individual file is available seperately from the project homepage.
Wednesday 13th September 2000
- Star Rogue Slip-up. There was a little problem-ette with Robin Gawlik's last release of Star Rogue (v0.25a). Or at least, in the zip archive - it was missing a file called 'arm.dat'. There is a new complete archive up on the project homepage so if you're having trouble, check your files before deciding to have a shout at Robin.
Tuesday 12th September 2000
- Cat Pounces. Well, moves actually. Having been evicted from his old website (server closed), 'Neko' has transfered his site to SourceForge. Sooo, if you've got a link to CatH-Angband (Cat-and-the-Hack Angband), you might want to change it to the link I've just given you in this very sentence roughly about 20-or-so words ago. Erm..yes.
Monday 11th September 2000

- New Unofficial Ver. Prfnoff has released an update of his 'unofficial' Angband variant - (a2.9.1). It's just a beta at the mo so don't expect binaries until some of the more nasty bugs have been stamped and smooshed and battered and thumped. Here is the source...
Wednesday 6th September 2000
- Light Patch. Andrew White has had a little fiddle with the Angband code and produced a patch to allow monsters to carry light sources - critters who should ofcourse (human monsters like mages, paladins, priests, etc.) and critters that give off light naturally (light hounds, fire vortex, etc.). You can find the patch at the link below...
