Hi Fellow Gamers
Would you be interested in music for Angband?
This would be an interesting development to a game which seems to have
evolved well in the past few months. I can produce midi music for the
game.
If you would like to suggest styles of music for Angband please post
here.
If you have any comments on the idea please post here. Obviously Midi
music is not current supported in Angband. (unless I've made a terrible
error and just havn't discovered it.)
I would think that the music could reflect the mood of the game play,
dark and mysterious when searching out creatures and treasures. Hard
and victorious battle music when taking on monster pits and vaults.
Music gettting darker and evil'er (for want of a better phrase) as you
go deeper and deeper towards your ultimate goal (Morgoth). Special music
for special monsters, and victory stings for when you clear a vault of
beat a unique.
The kind of music spec I had in mind was:
Start up / character creation music
Town Music
Dungeon Exploration music : Changes mood as you get deeper
Battle Music: For battles which include more than a few monsters
Vault Music:
Unique Monster Music:
Victory Music
Death Music
At the moment the midi music would be written for the Soundblaster range
of cards including Awe32. Special versions could be adapted for other
computer platforms if information was made available. The Amiga version
could support Mod Files.
If there are any other composers who would like to be involved in this
please make your comments here.
This is at the moment only a suggestion and not something that is
current planned for Angband
Please let me know what you think to this idea.
Tim
